Today’s â€Å"Alternative† Newspapers Essay Two crucial social flows moved through America in the last 50% of the Twentieth Century. In the mid-1950’s the Beat Generation started thrive principally cour-tesy of the â€Å"hip† creators of the time: Jack Kerouac, Allen Ginsberg and William S. Bramble roughs.
